My boy's got wheels!
The car: a 1987 Chevrolet Camaro (my first serious boyfriend had an earlier model so let's hope they fixed those easily-fogging windows). It has 86,000 miles, new tires, 6 cylinders and no air-conditioning, which is supposedly a plus because the car will ride lighter and faster. I imagine WE will be riding lighter, at the very least, since it's been in the high 90's all month.
The cost: $2,400. My son paid half from his hard-earned dish-washing stashed cash, his father paid the other. I'm actually prooud of the two for setting aside their pigheadedness long enough to agree on a car, and the police weren't called once the entire weekend.
Bonus Tom Sawyer moment: since we weren't able to pick up the car until 6 p.m., my ex- demonstrated proper waxing technique ON MY CAR.

No AC? Ummmm you WANT his car to ride slower! LOL
If those are original miles, he got a great deal! The body looks great!
A bonus, if he gets speeding tickets or is being punished, you have a sweet car to drive! LMAO BIG HUGS, Steph
Nice car!!! Dayum...
OH I have a hard-on for that car! (I know, it's a fricken miracle) Anyway, I love the older Camaro's and TransAm's - my brother has a TA with a highly custom paint job -a true show car. I am so glad for your son in having this baby to call his own! Plus, he won't want to drive YOUR vehicle, which is always a plus! Did you get a full wax job or just an example? :)
I love love love that car! Let us Pray that he doesn't watch Tokyo Drift???? That was born to drive sideways! Anyhow, lookie, lookie, lookie at my site!!!!
loves!
Candy
I can remember my first car. it was a 85 nissan pickup king cab, and it was the orange copper color. I named him MONSTER. I don't know why. I did have a/c, it was a 5 speed (the only thing i buy unless car is a gift) and no radio so I had to have a little one put in with a tape player. This was 94 so cd players weren't big yet. But I loved that truck. Then I crashed it into a wall (long story) and got my mom's Galant. I loved that car even more.
Oh and sure you can borrow booties anytime you want. However, I don't know how he will do in the south. And well you should come visit here. Than you can borrow him all you want... LOL
LOL @ Mayor!
I love that car...
I still have the 65 Mustang that my husband had when we were in high school. I am so afraid that if he gets rid of it, I will no longer even like him.
;)great Tom Sawyer moment!
Steph: I'm hoping the car has the ability to deflect radar - so I can borrow it ;)
Mayor: I told him the hot babe connection, too, and then he showed up with a car full of girls. Gluttons for punishment, all of 'em...(and yes, it was about time his dad stepped up).
kat & Stephen: I think he got a steal, and he tells me it will be worth more than mine in 10 years. Pig. ;) (and I got the complete wax and buff - I had to do my own windows, though, wah!).
Candy: I'm just relieved we live in the south - that car would travel sideways all winter!
Leah: I definitely prefer 5-speeds myself, but orange? Would clash with my hair ;)
Terri: LOL! If he ever wants a divorce, at least you'll know what asset you want :P (I love '65 mustangs, too!)
cooooool!
*do you wanna ride in my bitchin' camaro?*
(who sang that song?)
dang! mayor of simpleton already brought up the bitchin' camaro song. and knew actually words -- other than just "bitchin' camaro."
i am shamed.
